Dr.Malik began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and knows the value of a practical nursing education firsthand. Dr.Malik continued her nursing education at Oakton Community College where she completed the LPN-RN Associates program and then pursued a RN-MSN at Loyola Univeristy Chicago where she recieved her Masters in Nursing with an Adult Nurse Practitioner focus. Dr.Malik completed her nursing education at Graceland University from which she recieved a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a focus in Organizational Leadership. While pursuing higher education, Dr.Malik worked in a variety of nursing fields including Geriatrics, Women’s Health, Pediatrics, legal nurse consulting, nursing administration and home health care. Dr.Malik has been practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past ten years which gives her over 16 years of nursing experience in a variety of fields. In addition, Dr.Malik has mentored and precepted more than a dozen students to get in and successfully complete nursing training through various programs. Dr.Malik has developed nursing curriculums, policies and review programs for several Practical Nursing programs. She is currently on the board for the largest nursing textbook publishing company, Elsevier, Chicago Public Schools Practical Nursing Program and Chicago State University. Dr.Malik has also had the opportunity to review textbooks and was selected to be on the writing panel for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) to develop nursing licensure examinations.
